Ittefaq was made years ago with Rajesh Khanna and now this remake. Since Ittefaq is a murder mystery, can't reveal much but will give an outline of the film.
Story: Film starts on the note that Sidharth Malhotra's wife and Sonakshi Sinha's husband are murdered. Akshaye Khanna is a police inspector who is investigating on the matter and probing who the murderer is. And 1.50 hours of the movie duration is dedicated to solve this murder conundrum.
Screenplay: Excellent and binds the audience well, all through the span of the film.
Music: Sans any music.
Action: Not too much but the thriller of the film covers up for everything.
Location: Ittefaq is shot in Mumbai so locations are real.
Acting: Sidharth has done justice to his role and acted well. Akshaye was superlative in his role and outshines with his acting. Sonakshi too carried her role well. All other actors of the film were good enough in their respective roles.
Direction: Abhay Chopra (Ravi Chopra's son) has for the first time tried his hands at full-fledged direction and has done a decent job. He has handled all the departments of the film well and was efficient at churning out good work from his actors.
Final verdict: Overall a good film. Apt movie for the murder mystery buffs as the thriller of the film is quite consuming from the first scene to the last. Film not recommended for the love story or the comedy film fans as this movie is just not for them.
