A top police source stated on Wednesday that Mumbai Police has deputized policemen to investigate allegations of extortion against NCB employees, including zonal director Sameer Wankhede, in the drugs bust case involving Aryan Khan.
According to him, police are investigating four complaints made by independent witnesses Prabhakar Sail, lawyers Sudha Dwivedi and Kanishka Jain, and Nitin Deshmukh in the NCB case. All of the grievances have been grouped together. Mr. Sail's statement was recorded by police on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The investigation will be overseen by Dilip Sawant, Additional Commissioner of Police (South Region), with DCP Hemrajsingh Bagul serving as a supervisory officer. The investigation team would include Assistant Commissioner of Police Milind Khetle, Police Inspector Ajay Sawant, Assistant PI Shrikant Karkar, and Sub Inspector Prakash Gawali. Vishwas Nangre Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, issued the order of inquiry (Law and Order).
