Comedian Kapil Sharma essayed a very small role in a crowd scene in Sunny Deol's blockbuster, the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha though the scene could not make it to the final round of the film. But as it is, he can not forget it as he really irritated the film's director Tinu Verma who after that had to throw him out of the set that day.
While chatting with actor Mukesh Khanna, Tinu Verma, who did the action of the film, shared an incident about the film when he was shooting with a huge crowd. It was already difficult to shoot with them and on that Kapil messed more. Verma said that as soon as he called action, the crowd had to run towards the train but there was a boy who was running in the opposite direction. He was none other but Kapil Sharma.
Tinu called the boy and asked him to do as the scene required, "Teri vajah se one more hua hai shot." When they were again ready with the huge crowd, he put his focus on the boy and guess what! Kapil did not follow the instructions and again ran in the opposite direction.
"Maine camera chhodaa aur main uss bande ke pass bhaga aur jaise hi pakda, phaad (slapping sound) ek kaan ke niche diye aur main bola isko bahar nikalo."
Well when Sunny Deol was a guest on Kapil's show once, Kapil talking about the incident had said that he actually ran in the opposite direction because he wanted to stand out, he was sure he would be lost in the crowd and this was the way to stand out. Sunny didn't know that Kapil was part of the film.
The film went on to become a blockbuster.
