For over two years now, veteran actor Anupam Kher has been embroiled in a legal battle with director Samir Karnik over the latter’s cheque bouncing. Anupam says "Sameer owes me more than Rs. 20 lakhs. I have given him more than 2 years for the same. Left with no option than to take the legal course, I had even registered a complaint with the police regarding non-payment of dues almost a year back. Now, I am going to the higher authorities in the police department to follow up on the case." He has also gone on Twitter expressing his frustration with the absolute lack of progress saying "Goodness towards somebody who plays a victim, can be termed as your foolishness. Have been waiting for my dues for long. #SameerKarnik". Besides the police case, Anupam had earlier also filed a complaint with the actors' association stating that his remuneration for working on Chaar Din Ki Chandni hasn't been paid. The director seems to have troubled other cast members as well - Tusshar Kapoor who was also in the film has also filed a case against Karnik.
