After a prolonged wait, the trouble for Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund, helmed by Nagraj Manjule of Sairat fame is settled. The movie is now set to release and Amitabh shared the date.
"Iss toli se muqaabla karne ke liye raho taiyyar! Humari team aa rahi hai #Jhund releasing on 4th March, 2022 in cinemas near you," shared Amitabh on his social media handle on Wednesday with a picture of self holding a football.
Going back, the release of the movie had been put on hold by the Kukatpally Court in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana and the Supreme court had refused lifting stay on its release and had also dismissed appeal against the Telangana High court order over the movie's screening. The appeal filed by the petitioner Super Cassette Industries was dismissed by the bench against order of HC on October 19 which rejected to interfere with the trial court order holding film's release.
And Jhund had got stay order over copyright infringement and the court had stated the movie should not be streamed on any of the OTT platforms. The suit is filed by filmmaker Nandi Chinni Kumar of Hyderabad in the court of Telangana. He made allegations of film of copyright infringement.
Coming to Jhund it's based on a retired sports teacher Vijay Barse who also is a founder of an NGO Slum Socceer in Nagpur. Bachchan would be seen essaying professor in the film where he makes a soccer team out of street kids. Most of the shoot was carried in Nagpur, city of oranges, gardens and temples. Movie is produced by Nagraj, Krishan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Savita Hiremath and Raaj Hiremath and also stars actors Sairat fame actors Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar.
