Find out Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap reaction to #MeToo allegations against him

Aaliyah Kashyap, daughter of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, says last year when MeToo allegations were leveled against her father by actress Payal Ghosh, it bothered her the most because it was a misrepresentation of her father’s character. In September last year, Payal Ghosh had opened up on social media alleging that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had sexually harassed her in 2013. However, in his statement given to Mumbai Police, Anurag Kashyap denied the allegation saying at that time, he was in Sri Lanka for a shoot and termed the allegations as an “absolute lie”.

In an interview with Zoom’s Invite Only season 2, Aaliyah said that the allegations against her father bothered her the most. She said, “The #MeToo claims bothered me a lot. The hate doesn’t get to me, it is the misrepresentation of his character that bothers me. People think he is a terrible man, but ask anyone close to me and they will say that he’s the biggest softy teddy bear you’ll ever meet.”

Aaliyah also went on to reveal that it gives her anxiety. “This is what gives me anxiety, and not really the hate. I know that whatever hate I get for him is just from people who don’t have anything better to do with their lives. My dad also has been trying to make more of an effort to keep his things away from me because he doesn’t want it to make my anxiety worse,” she said.

Meanwhile, Aaliyah is currently dating Shane Gregoire and she is often seen sharing mushy videos and pictures with him. Earlier, Aaliyah had revealed on her YouTube chancel that she met her boyfriend on a dating app. “I made the first move. We met after two months of talking and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I was waiting for him to kiss me but I was like, he is not doing it. Because I think he didn’t know if I was comfortable with it or whatever, so I just went in for it. It was so awkward because we were talking and mid-sentence I did it because I was thinking about it so much and I was so nervous,” she revealed to Ida Ali, daughter of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.
