It appears that the magic of our Bollywood stars has spread to the Orient. Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai, who is considered a pioneer of the new wave in Chinese cinema, wants to work with superstars Shah Rukh or Aamir if he takes up an Indian project. The filmmaker, honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award at the International Film Festival of India, calls himself a fan of Satyajit Ray and says he has watched several of his movies. Among the recent Indian films, he says he was impressed by The Lunchbox and he called the director Ritesh Batra a promising new talent. The 56-year old hopes that the recent bilateral pact signed between India and China will encourage more active collaboration between filmmakers from both the sides.
